Iceman VS. 3.0. This is kinda weird

Ok this is kinda weird but I think I may have figured it out. I've had a 3.0 CAI on my 98 along with some other mods for a cpl months now and noticed a big gain. My 3.0 filter sits just below the front bumper so it gets major air flow to it. Well today I installed a Iceman kit that I just got and noticed that my car has lost it's balls pretty much. So tell me if my assumption is wrong, I'm thinking that I got better gains and gitty up with the 3.0 because the filter sat just behind and below the front bumper letting it get more cold air while the Iceman filter sits just in front and below the battery not getting the amount of air the 3.0 does. Does this seem right to you? I'm gonna put my 3.0 on again tomorrow to see if things go back to where they were if they do than I'll sell my Iceman kit.

I dont know? Ive seen dyno charts comparing the two and the iceman had about 2hp over the 3.0. I like my 3.0l but if you wanna sell it, PLEASE hit me up first!

PlatinumNeon: you have an ATX right? You could very well be right, since you have to cut the Iceman to fit the ATX cars the filter isn't as low as it is normally. I've never seen a 3.0 intake on a neon nor have I see an Iceman on an ATX car, so I'm not positive of the filter placement.

Ahh, I didn't know he had an atx. You very well may be right, cuz the 3.0l filter would be alot lower and pick up more air.

Yeah I have a gay atx. Because of that I have to get a peice of exhaust tube to lengthen the 3.0 so you can se a little bit of the filter from under the front bumper so it does get all the air. The Iceman you have to cut if you have an atx car so the filter sits right in front and a little below the battery. Also with the 3.0 you have to get a smaller filter in diameter and length, I just ran down to Pepboys and grabbed one of there aftermarket ones for like $15

Thats what I did with mine. I bought a piece of exhaust pipe from Autozone and a filter and it sits right be hind the front bumper, well just a little higher. I like mine but now I want an iceman for the looks.
