Here it is.... Phase one is complete, it is back up and running.

Looks really good Vin, now make sure it's right and slap that turbo shit on! Do you plan on leaving the cam gear cover off?


BTW, once it's turbo, it'll honestly be my vision of the perfect Neon minus the exports tails, mirrors, and MAYBE bronze 5zigen's (used to love those, but your Rotas have really grown on me!). Your car just keeps getting better and better to me and everything is just so fuckin perfectly tastful and is high quality. From the newly buffed out shiny black paint, to the seats, to the type and year it is ('97 ACR coupe), to the export front turns (even if they're fakies), to the wheels, now the turbo.........perfect. Seriously, if you ever ever ever want to sell it, get ahold of me! Maybe we can work my R/T into the deal? It comes with extras!!

Just got back from the first drive, took it straight to the gas station since it only had a 1/4 tank of some 5 month old premium in it.

Thanks for the compliments man, I appreciate it. A lot of the things you mentioned I would love to do, but at this point I just can't justify sinking a shit ton of money into visual stuff. If I were going all out the car would have exports tails and turns, bronze 15x7 Sipstreams or powdercoated 15x7.5 K1s, and a fresh paint job. It looks good, but most of it is 9 year old paint. In fact right now it looks like shit, stock wheels with bald tires and 5 months of garage dust.

As for selling it I will keep that in mind. I plan on selling it in maybe 2 years for something RWD, and a stockish R/T as trade might make for a good daily driver at that point. We'll see though.

Oh and you asked about the timing cover.....

I cut the top of it off like people do for cam gears just to make the outer cover easier to get on, it's a real pain trying to get it on/off around the PS lines. I epoxied the inspection cover to the top half that I cut off, so I can bolt the whole thing on and have a complete cover if I choose to. I dunno, I kinda like the way it looks off.

I love the way the cover looks off, I've wanted to do it to mine for a long time, I just thought I'd heard something about it being dangerous if you don't have aftermarket cam gears. Maybe I'm thinking of something else....

As for blazing, if you're ever in the Athens area, hit me up. Seriously. I have a house here on campus at OU with 2 buddies and we all smoke, quite frequently, and we're always inviting people over. Ever hear of "Meigs County Gold"? I'm from Jackson county, right by Meigs, so we get that a lot and home grown good stuff. We don't fuck around when it comes to getting high.
