You and me both, it's a pricey addiction too. When I got bored last week I priced how much to build myself another computer and use this one to upgrade one of my servers in the basement or build a decent Linux box to work on. To build everything the way I want it using the new MSI Neo4 NForce4 /w SLI, MSI Geforce 6800 Ultra (PCI-E), Athlon64 3000+ o/c to 3500+... ect... it'd all cost me nearly $1800. Love to do it.... but really don't want to spend that kinda cash just yet on building another PC when I really wanna have some head work done on the R/T and all.
btw, I have a stuffed Y2K bug sitting on my desk from '99

you sound like my b/f, except he actually keeps buying more computer stuff. In the past year, he's built 3 different computers, changed motherboards a few times, sold stuff he got bored with to buy more stuff, right now he has 2 oc'd computers that are both water cooled but he wants to sell em both I think and build another one. I really think he's just throwing away money, but i guess if it were being spent on me it'd be somewhat like throwing it away too, he's just having more fun doing it on computers. heh

I used to be that way back in HS haha. After graduating I toned down a lot in the computer area because I started to get a little bored of it and it wasn't really a challenge anymore. Right now, as long as I can get on the net, get my e-mail, and do some gaming every now and then when I get bored... thats all I need. I dont' need to have the latest and greatest everytime something new comes out like I used to, but when I do decide to build a new computer, I always seem to go all out. I've toned down so much that when I priced everything the other week I had to actually research everything and read up on the new stuff that's come out

I've went from wanting to mod my PC case to modding my car.
*cough* ah hem... that's a 20.1" thank you
