the Magnum motor?

ok ok .. im new to this neon thing. so anyways just got a 96 sohc 5spd. so the past to days ive been reading neon forums looking to see whats good to do, anyways the Magnum motor swap is the only other thing i see besides a dohc swap. just wondering what the Magnum is out of and what are the specs on it?

the Magnum SOHC came out of the 2001-2004 R/T models, and 2001-2002 ACR. specs are 150 HP and 132 lb-ft. from the crank in those cars. with a first gen you'd probably be better off doing a 2.4 DOHC swap though.

In addition (if you didn't already learn this) the main physical differences between the Magnum motor and a regular SOHC is the electronically-controlled dual-runner intake manifold, a short-tube header, and a better-flowing cylinder head.

What are your plans with the car? Unless you go turbo or nitrous you won't really be able to get a SOHC much faster than mid to low 14s.

mid to low 14's wont be bad. this car is just my beater. i like the N/A class but if i did turbo something it would probly be this

also what was the tq spec on the mag.. ? about the same as a 2.4?
