1997 Plymouth Neon Sohc for Sale

Post by SohcNeon97 »

1997 Red Neon Sohc 5 speed coupe, short throw linkages, and short throw shifter, booger shift bushings, 1993 Dodge Daytona wheels, Intrax 1.75" lowering springs, Prothane motion control susp. bushings, full 2.5" exhaust, Short Ram intake, 2 12" mtx subwoofers 600 watt amp, Alpine headunit, Mopar Performance banner on windsheild, new motor mounts w/ polyurethane motor mount inserts. it has one of the cleanest interiors, except for 1 spot on the drivers side door panel armrest. I also have the R/t guage cluster w/ the tach, and have a full disc brake setup for the rear, (not on). It was in a light collision, and the front rt. fender has about a 2" long dent in it, and the back rt. qt. panel has some dents in it. but if needed, I know a guy that can get a new fender for $40, and pull the rear dent, smooth it, sand and repaint it at professional quality for $250 (he works at Jeff Bankemper's) It has 105,000 miles. I'm asking $3200 obo. The price is neg. pm me

i think you still need to learn quite about the value of cars (or at least how to look them up), cause no one in their right mind is gonna pay $2800 for an 8 y/o neon, modded or not. especially around any neon enthusiasts boards. the mileage is ok for how old it is, but most people looking to pay that much for a '97 would like to see a lot less on the odo. KBB quotes a 97 2-door neon mtx in good condition at less than $1800 for private party value. in theory modification bring down a car's value, and i see the car you're trying to sell is probably closer to fair condition due to the minor dents and such. which would bring down the car's value considerably.

so, to sum it up, you aren't getting any hits cause you are asking WAY too much for a car that isn't quite close to being worth it.

I agree, that is a bit much. For reference I paid $3300 for my 60k mile '97 DOHC ACR 6 mos ago. No major dents, very clean interior, and similar bolt ons as your car if not more. No poly bushings like yours, but factory Konis, rear disks, and 3.94 final drive.

You're proably better off selling the subs, rear disk setup, short throw stuff, and even lowering springs seperate. If the Daytona wheels are in decent shape at all, get some cheap steelies and sell those seperate too. THEN try and sell the rest of the car. Doing that will get you the most money out of what you have.
