MTX question

Have any of you out there that have mtx's had problems with the cotter pin that slides inside the gear select lever? Mine keeps breaking, and when I took it to the dealer when my clutch was messing up, the replaced it with a run of the mill threaded bolt with no nut. Well that broke tonight and left me stuck in the middle of no where stuck in the rain trying to come up with a way to fix it, I found a temp solution but it makes it damn near impossible to go into gears 1, 3, and 5. But I made it home about 10min ago.

If they put a bolt in it, maybe replace the bolt with a stainless one?
