Suspension time....

Post by Epitaphrox »

k well after the neon gets fixed i'm gonna put new rims and suspension on it... thinking Intrax springs (eibachs are out of the question) but what about struts? shocks? gas shocks? AIR RIDE?! what do you think i should put in it for Dragging? any suggestions?
and i've got to keep the stock steelies because they have brand new tread so i'm thinking toyo's or yokohama's but i really don't want any and i mean ANY rice equipment on this car... help me out...

Get coilovers. There's some group buys and deals goingon on neons.org right now. Eventually I'm gonna try for a nice set of full coilovers.

OH SNAP $112?!?!?!, I gonna hav to get me some ov doz y0... that shiz off da h00k playa :puke:

*clears throat*

If you don't want 'rice' don't get those.... that's one of the biggest rice things you can do b/c those aren't true coilovers, they're coilover sleeves. True coilovers like I have will cost you around $1,000, give or take since you can find some nowadays for $600-800 but a general rule is you get what you pay for. They might be $600 but give it about a year and the threads will start to corrode making it nearly impossible to adjust them. But back to the sleeves... they suck, they will make noise, cause you to blow your struts out faster than you can say WTF and basically fuck you suspension up bad. To even consider those would be stupid.

Btw, I really wouldlnt' consider Toyo or Yokohama rice... they are decent tires, just because they have a Japaneese brand name doesn't make it rice, it just makes it a Japaneese tire brand.

Yeah the only way I would fuck with coilover sleeves is if I was putting Ground Control sleeves on shotened and revalved double-adjustable Konis. :)
