lowest 1gn weight???

Post by noxneon »

whos got the lowest weight in a 1gn without removal of any of the stock unibody stucture??? right now with a full interior, 1/4 tank and me, mine weighs in at 2600 lbs, i weigh bout a buck 50. so whos got me on weight. Main reason for asking is im just curious to see if anyone has broken 2k dry weight. for me that'd would mean taking about 450 lbs out of the car.

the gvrw for my car is 3495, but thats max, i guess, before stuff starts to break. with just me and 1/4 tank my weight is about 2600, thats from the scale at the dump 20 lb increments so its not to accurate.

I think most 1st gens weigh between 2400 and 2600, depending on options.

I never weighed mine, but I estimate it is in the 2400 area. I'll have to get it on the scale next time I go to edgewater.

Oh, and IIRC Nick Riley's old blue "beercan" R/T got to around 1800. A local guy named Ben also had a back-halved 1g R/T under 2k, ran something like 14.0s with a stock motor. It had lexan windows and everything, was gonna be a full blown race car but he sold it, I think to get an SRT when they came out.

Steve K's car was down around that 1800lbs mark too and got into the 11's with a stock bottom end 2.4!

Edgewater is the only one I know if, I'm sure there are others though.
