Post by greenneon95 »

Ok i blew a hole through my trany somehow....I couldn't tell you how lol....I was wondering if there are any aftermarket transmissons that are built for more horsepower or something? If so could you tell me where to find it thank you very much.

Auto or manual? You can get a bunch of stuff from Forward Motion for auto trannys. Manual there isn't really anything you can do for more power, except install a LSD.

For the ultimate in manual trans performance, get the '01-'03 Magnum (R/T and ACR) tranny. They have a 3.94 FD, .81 5th gear, a taller 2nd gear that's closer to 3rd and a 165 lb/ft torque rating.

A '95-'99 ACR and R/T tranny has all that minus the nice 2nd gear. A '95-'99 DOHC Sport/Expresso has the 3.94 tranny, the shorter 2nd gear, and a .72 5th gear for more highway fuel economy. If you strictly are worried about fuel economy, get a 3.55 with .72 5th like most regular Neons had throughout the years. All Neon manual trannys before Feb 2000 are rated at 135 lb/ft of torque.

I would be willing to bet your diff pin left the party, leaving the hole in your tranny case.

Ok thats not really what i mean....... I blew the trany apart with a stock car.....all i have is an exhaust... The stupid neon transmissons are made of cast iron. Don't they make one thats steel or something? Something thats going to take a beating from me. And something that will bolt right up to my engine.... I have a 1995 dodge neon DOHC.

 sure, if you really want to put a transmission in your car that costs more than the car's worth, i'm sure you could find one if you look hard enough.

Your tranny didn't die from being overpowered, it died from old age if anything.
