THE SPECS:
- 1998 Dodge Neon R/T coupe ~ Bright White w/ factory dark blue stripes (I don't believe in "de-skunking" an R/T, so the sripes ARE staying)
- 2.0 DOHC (from a 99 R/T) w/ 103k
- 3.94 trans w/ .81 5th gear
-141k on the body
-Factory power option delete car equipped w/ cruise and all other standard R/T options (rear sway, 4-wheel disc, blue squiggle bucket seats, leather wrapped wheel, etc)

THE MODS:
-WAI (cheap, came w/ the car - upgrading to CAI soon)
-55mm TB
-MSD coil pack & wires
-B&M short-throw shifter w/ aftermarket knob & boot
-Blue Boogar Bushings
-Front strut tower brace
-Mopar high rate springs
-Thermal Racing & Development muffler
-Depo Projectors & clear turns
-Depo fogs

*Long tube header, SRT wheels, & Mopar PCM are on their way - will be installing soon :)

THE STORY:
I picked this R/T up locally very cheap to fix up and replace my Plymouth Style as my new daily driver. I have ALWAYS wanted an R/T...especially a coupe w/ this color option (my favorite). We towed it home and replaced the engine (was locked up and had overheated - not sure of whole story) with a lower mileage (103k) DOHC out of a stock black 99 R/T sedan we stumbled across for parts. After several hours, a few late nights in the shop (and a nice bath) he's ready to proudly roam the streets!
:D

THE PICS: (click to enlarge - wanted them to be 56k friendly)

THE FUTURE:
I plan to keep this R/T mostly stock (after all, it is the DD) but also enjoy to have some mods - nothing to serious - to up the already fun & style these R/T's have! 8)

Let me know what you guys think!

I got it from a guy up near Cleveland. He had owned it for a while with the intention of fixing it after the motor locked up but never got around to it, so it actually sat for almost 2 years before he ended up wanting to sell it.

I really like the seat material. ChryCo had some good ideas with the 1GN interiors.

LOL we have been so busy you have no idea...

That Cavy is one of about 4 cars wating for some work...but it's next in line after the Land Rover. Probably in a month or so. All it needs is a tranny, so it won't be too bad 8)

It's a 99 Z24 5 speed coupe...decent condition and pretty low miles w/ a almost newly rebuilt engine. Sunroof, 5 star rims, etc. KBB is about $4K...we're asking a quick $3500 after it's fixed. Any takers???

Thanks :)

Phil's car is still close by and I see the girl who bought it every now and then. She seems to be taking care of it, which is good. I wouldn't let it go to anyone who doesn't like neons or would treat it like a piece of junk because that is honestly the nicest stock 1st gen I've ever owned. I loved the Style package 8)

If I could afford to keep 3 cars, I would. But it had to go if I wanted this R/T (which I really did). I do miss it tho.

Her boyfriend is "Stock" on neons.org...he has a turbo'd 2.0 DOHC platinum sedan...he posts every now and then. I don't think he's on here or 1gn. He doesn't get on that often and I know she isn't really into that stuff (or so I think) but who knows! :)
